I chose to work with the Chalet Shop because they were highly flexible in allowing me to look after the design and the vast majority of the sourcing for our new 4 bedroom duplex penthouse in Val d’Isère. The Chalet Shop focused mainly on purchasing, customs paperwork, delivery and installation as well as other important matters such as whether the furniture would fit through the door and measuring for curtains! They also arranged for a fantastic local team to install all my lighting, mirrors and art.
I’m very grateful for the bespoke arrangements that CS proposed which allowed them to depart from their regular business model where they design and purchase on behalf of clients. The additional administrative burden and financial impact of this arrangement on CS was covered by agreed additional charges and CS were transparent throughout.
I’m delighted with how our new home has turned out. It’s one of the highest penthouses in the Alps and the quadruple aspect, double height living space is phenomenal with some of the very best views in the resort! We are now looking forward to spending many happy family holidays there, with Bramble Ski renting out the weeks we’re not around!

I asked The Chalet Shop to help decorate my new ski apartment in Alpe D’Huez. Having renovated several apartments myself, including with the assistance of designers, I was wondering how painful a process it would be selecting and sourcing all the fixtures and fittings. It was not painful at all! The Chalet Shop clearly has lots of experience in this area, established links with service providers, and came up with some great ideas. The entire process was very smooth, starting with mood boards and moving onto more detailed design proposals. Unlike perhaps some of their clients, I had definite ideas about particular pieces of furniture, and Hannah’s team were happy to listen to me and then work to my specification. The added problem was that we had to kit out the 3 bedroom chalet within a tight time frame and budget. No problem! Everything was approved and dates booked very speedily. The delivery to Switzerland happened on time and the guys who arrived with the pieces were some of the best ‘removal’ people I have ever used. They had to negotiate several lifts and walk through a building site of a car park, all of which they willingly did without complaint. It was also one of the hottest days in the year. We faced multiple delays during the construction of our apartment and plans were adapted to fit the new circumstances each time, saving us a lot of stress. A non-functional lift meant extra people needed to be found last minute to install the furniture and this was arranged rapidly. I really cannot recommend Chalet Shop highly enough. From the initial contact I made with Vikki via the internet, (having known nothing about them) to each step of the process, it was both enjoyable and incredibly professional.
My children and I had a very tight schedule to furnish a 4 bedroom ski apartment in Saint Martin post covid but Vikki rose to the challenge magnificently and appeared to work 24 hours a day to try and get us everything we needed.
Due to the limited time frame we couldn’t go for the ‘full package’ which would have included curtains and soft furnishings, but having now done these ourselves through French companies, I would strongly recommend that if you have time, ask Chalet Shop to do everything! It’s so much easier.
They supplied everything we needed to get us through the first post covid season, which included the all important beds, sofa, dining table, chairs, all the bedding, crockery, cutlery, a full kitchen package and even those little extras that you think you don’t need, but it turns out you do, like a teapot. Everything is stylish and very high quality.
Every more amazingly, every single item that she sourced was delivered, despite the problems of supply due to Brexit and covid.
And you cannot put a price on cheerful delivery drivers bringing huge heavy furniture and boxes up 4 tight flights of stairs during a snow storm and setting it all up!

We had a brilliant experience with Chalet Shop when we instructed them to fully furnish our five-bedroom chalet in Samoens. We initially got in touch with them in April 2021 once we realised that furnishing a chalet from scratch without the benefit of their help would be an arduous task particularly post Brexit.
After chatting through our initial ideas on how we wanted the finished chalet to look the team produced mood boards for each room which were pretty much spot on in terms of our end vision. There’s a wide choice of items on their website and they were also able to source other items if required. They put a lot of time and thought into the layout for each room and their experience in the ski chalet industry was invaluable in terms of what we needed in terms kitchen equipment, table and glassware, bedding etc so that we were up and running from the offset.
We completed our purchase in September after which the Chalet Shop team in France visited the property to check that all the items included in our initial quote would fit and suited the property in terms of room layouts. Following this there were several amendments to our initial quote which they were more than happy to accommodate until we were 100% happy.
Our installation date was early November, and we chose the full installation package which included delivery, building furniture, unpacking everything, making up beds and putting up light fittings, mirrors and coat hooks so we were ready for the start of the ski season. The haulage company Chalet Shop use and the team in France were all so efficient whilst we went over to France on the installation day we really didn’t need to be there.
Chalet Shop dealt with all the customs paperwork for us which would have been quite daunting and time consuming for us to deal with. We are so pleased we chose Chalet Shop and are delighted with the finished product; all the furniture, accessories and equipment are high quality and we’ve had lots of feedback from guests and friends on how lovely the Chalet looks.

We really enjoyed working with Hannah and the team at Chalet Shop and are delighted with the outcome.
When we first bought our chalet in France, we had a vague idea of what kind of look and feel we wanted but found the idea of furnishing and kitting it out from scratch rather daunting, especially working mostly remotely.
Chalet shop’s experience and friendly, professional approach to the project was a godsend. They really took the time to understand what we wanted and how to achieve it, using a series of mood-board mockups based on photographs of the empty chalet to really bring our high-level vision to life.
Once we had agreed on the theme we wanted, Chalet Shop took care of the rest – building a comprehensive inventory of furnishings and fittings ranging from beds, sofas and tables through to pans, cutlery, bedlinen and towels. Although we were able to change pretty much any aspect of the design and inventory at any stage in the process, we found that in the majority of cases, we were more than happy with their recommendations.
When everything was finalized, they collected several items of our own furniture that we had incorporated into the project and arranged a delivery and installation time to meet in France.
The actual installation went ahead without a hitch and only took a couple of days including unloading and building furniture, unpacking kitchenware, putting up artwork etc. When we both arrived in France shortly afterwards and walked into our new chalet it felt like we were instantly at home, which is the biggest recommendation I can give.

The whole process was hassle free as they took on the workload and even thought about the things I would have forgotten like children’s cutlery and plastic glasses for outside.
The delivery was super efficient and Chalet Shop had local personnel in Chamonix for curtains, television & wi-fi set up and a handyman. It goes without saying that the furniture quality was excellent and they dressed the whole chalet ready for use.
It would have been a logistical nightmare without Chalet Shop! Thank you.

Having had the good fortune of buying a beautiful ski apartment in Chatel, I was feeling daunted by the prospect of fitting it out. Hannah and Sally were absolutely amazing when it came to furnishing our chalet. I was at the other end of the world, having not even seen the property myself and Hannah (who was my point of contact) studied the plans and worked from some photos. I don’t think they could have done a better job had she seen the chalet! Everything fitted and looked perfect on our arrival as Hannah had arranged for everything to be unpacked and even the beds were made! Not once did Hannah try and persuade me to buy more than was needed. I never felt that she was trying to make a sale. I would not hesitate to recommend Chalet Shop to anyone who is furnishing a chalet.

I have just completed a two year project to extend and refurbish my chalet in Switzerland. Chalet shop have been extremely helpful, offering a very personal service, especially in helping me save the 12% difference between UK VAT and Swiss VAT.

When we initially bought our small apartment in France the excitement was soon overtaken by the reality of the daunting task of furnishing the property to a standard that we wanted and that would be expected in a rental property.
