A Dream-Start to Ski Season: Early Snow Brings Good News
This winter season is off to an early and very promising start for skiers. Heavy autumn snowfalls have caused many top resorts in the Alps — and beyond — to open lifts and hotels ahead of the traditional schedule, giving eager winter-sports fans a head start on the season.
For ski resorts and local economies, this early snow is a real boost — more visitors means more bookings, early-season revenue and an extended stretch of cash-flow rather than waiting until mid-December or later.
What It Means for Skiers & Resorts
- Some high-altitude and snow-sure resorts that typically open later are already up and running — giving skiers access to fresh powder, shorter lift queues, and that first-tracks thrill.
- For many local businesses — hotels, rentals, ski shops and restaurants — the early opening is a significant uptick in trade. Early arrivals help spread demand, avoiding the usual holiday-season overcrowding and supporting a steadier, extended season.

For Us — Logistics & Challenges Behind the Scenes
At the same time, the early snow — while terrific for skiers — presents real logistical challenges for our delivery team. December is always a busy month, with many scheduled installations so owners can enjoy their chalets from the very start of the season 2025/26.
Yet thanks to careful preparation — snow chains, shovels, well-equipped cabins in our lorries — our crew is fully geared up for snowy mountain roads. The team’s experience and skill in navigating treacherous conditions means we’ve never yet been beaten by the elements.
Once the lorries reach the resorts, new challenges often arise. Delivering large furniture items up snowy, icy mountain steps — into and through apartment buildings — isn’t always straightforward. Occasionally lifts are out of service, which means our delivery heroes must carry heavy beds, mattresses and chunky wooden furniture up multiple flights of stairs. In some cases, furniture has to be hoisted into apartment through balcony windows. On one memorable project, the early snow meant that the roads were closed and so we sent furniture up to the chalet with the assistance of a piste-basher and snowmobile!

Why It’s a Good Sign for the Season Ahead
That early-season snow matters — not only for the resorts, but for everyone connected to the mountain lifestyle: owners, local suppliers, tradespeople, and the wider community. Early opening signals confidence in a strong winter season ahead.
From a business perspective, it also means the schedule we planned for is even more valuable. With properties ready just as the snow hits, our turnkey furniture packages will allow owners to enjoy the slopes — and their homes — right away.
In short: early snow = early joy for skiers, and a well-timed opportunity for us. Here’s to a season of fresh powder, smooth deliveries, and happy clients!
