Shipping & Installation
All clients receive our Standard Installation Service. Items are delivered safely inside. Large furniture items, such as beds and tables, are assembled and positioned. The packaging is removed and disposed of ecologically. Our couriers leave smaller boxed items in the relevant rooms for you to unpack and organise how you wish.
There is an optional Premium Installation Service where a local CS Dressing Consultant will project manage the installation and make the property ready for use straightaway. They will be responsible for ensuring everything is delivered and co-ordinate furniture placement, put away all crockery, cutlery, cookware, linens, towels etc. They will dress the rooms, including making up all the beds, ready for guests and organisingkitchen drawers and cupboards . They are also our point of contact throughout the installation so if any issues crop up, they will work alongside us to find immediate resolutions. (*This is charged in accordance with the CS Consultant’s hourly
rate and will include travel).
Using our network of specialist contractors across the Alps, we’ll organise relevant trades to attend to carry out any electrical work (such as fitting lights, changing plugs from UK to EU), joinery (such as fitting bespoke furniture, putting up shelves) and general odd jobs such as hanging mirrors and artwork. (**This is charged at local hourly rates and will include travel).

Customs
We do not charge UK VAT on our Packages. We’ll handle all of the logistics and paperwork for customs clearance. Please note that as the importer you are responsible for paying import VAT and duties. The amount varies but we would advise to budget 21-23% of the total package price to cover the local VAT and duties payment. This would be a Euro invoice sent directly from
the Customs Agent and must be paid before the lorry can cross the border. In France, if you are planning to set up a French Business to manage rentals of your property, then you may be able to reclaim the 20% French TVA but not the duties payment. We recommend that you seek advice from a professional in relation to this and any matters relating to tax and import duties.

Site Visit
The Chalet Shop team is based in the UK and has a network of consultants and partners across the Alps. When the property is ready for inspection, one of our local consultants will attend and check that the floor plans match reality so that there are no surprises on installation day. They check all of the furniture measurements, electrical points, radiator positions and take window measurements for curtains. You will receive a full site visit report including measurements, recommendations, photos and videos. We will review the report with you and make any necessary changes to your Package.
